Research Institute for Reproduction, Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transfer "Temerin" from Temerin is celebrating 50 years of existence and work. In last period all activities were directed on reproduction and genetic improvement in cattle breeding through research and expert work and its practical implementation, with well known results to our and international expert publicity.

The Research Institute for Reproduction, Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transfer "Temerin" was founded in 1953. year as Cow’s artificial insemination center, and in period of 50 years after, it passed through many transformations and improvements. Today it is one of the most up to date institute for reproduction, and by functioning first in Serbia and Monte Negro. It is established on a model of similar institutions in western countries in order to achieve best results in cattle reproduction and genetic improvement, and in the first place diary and beef production cattle, an also combined cattle breeds.

Research Institute "Temerin" activity is shown through following:

• Research work

• Reproduction and genetic extension work

• Personnel education in reproduction and sterility suppressing area

• Semen production and distribution (diary, beef and combined breeds)

• performance and progeny testing

• Embryo production ad distribution

• Together with Novi Sad Diary Factory and Kingdom of the Netherlands government it is developing source of row materials with establishing 300 family cattle farms on Vojvodina territory.

Within research activity, specialists from Research Institute "Temerin" in last period published about 500 scientific paper works which are presented on:

• All world reproduction congresses

• International and domestic public meetings

• 4 textbooks

• 2 mimeographed notes

• 2 booklets

This passed road is long story in which happiness and pleasure are interlaced because of success and improvement in work, with regret and sorrow because inappropriate obstacles in further development, which in last decade achieved "physical" and intellectual attack level, on developing projects of the Institute managements, from most powerful persons. We are in a hope that in the future, a common sense will prevail over, and that real scientific values of this Institute will be expressed fully and further affirmation will take place, because all activities are directed to better future.
